How’s that for an ominous title?
Now that I have your attention, how is your internet marketing working for you? Are those crickets I hear?
The internet has changed virtually everything. It has been said that “[n]o man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.” (Heraclitus of Ephesus). So it is with the internet. It changes by the nanosecond and you better be changing with it – when it comes to your marketing.
Puzzled? Let me be specific, no more riddles.
If you have not harnessed the power (and influence) of the internet, then you are being left behind by your peers who have. And worse? By all of the prospective clients who could not find your “shingle” out in the internet marketplace.
Here is what you need: a cutting edge website that puts your best foot forward in a friendly, approachable and professional way. Your website also needs to educate prospective clients about you and your services… and make it easy for them to schedule an initial consultation.
In short, show and tell.
Not only should your website educate and motivate prospective clients who already know your web address. No, your website needs to be found through Google key word searches and you should aspire to have your website land on the coveted Google page one for such searches.
Here is an example to see what I mean. Keystroke “Overland Park Estate Planning Attorney” in the Google search box. Do you see my listings? Both www.kekpa.com and www.kylekrull.com are right there on page one.
Take it to the bank. Prospective clients, their support network (read: adult children and professional advisors) believe that attorneys ranked higher on Google are better than attorneys who are ranked lower. Life isn’t fair, I know.
So, how does your website move up to, or near the coveted “pole position” (a little auto racing analogy)? Hard work.
