“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” - Vince Lombardi
How important is it to have a really good team? It's the quality of your team that will take you from good to great ... or not.
Over the last few months I have had the pleasure and benefit of working with an excellent Colorado law firm, building their Essentials marketing program. Why do I use the terms pleasure and benefit? Well, the answer is quite simple honestly ... they are awesome! One of the oldest estate planning law firms in the Colorado, they have developed a fairly large team over the years. Most team members have been with the firm for more than 10 years and many even more than 20 years! Why do they stick around so long? Why does the firm continue to excel and grow even in a down economy?
Because they have built an outstanding team!
Every weekly meeting we have with this team involves all team members giving their individual insight and opinions, and yet they still are able to come together on decisions for the "greater good" of their marketing program. They also have a sense of humility and are able to take advice and suggestions from our team (which is also awesome by the way). The end result of this outstanding combined team effort will be one of (if not the) most comprehensive, well thought out and effective marketing programs we have ever built. Not only will the end result be amazing but every team member knows exactly why each element is implemented, how to use it and is genuinely excited about achieving uncommon results because of it.
When
you
embark on a new campaign for your law firm, whether it be marketing
related or
not, get your team on board -- get them educated and excited about it. Their excitement and enthusiasm will, in the words of Coach Lombardi, "fuel uncommon results."
