If you’ve been following this blog series, by now you may have reviewed the general social media overview and the three tips for social media success, but find yourself thinking, “This blog is called ‘Knowing the Numbers.’ All of that information seems pretty abstract. What numerical goals should I associate with my estate planning or elder law social media accounts?”
For companies that start their social media presence when they join Integrity Marketing and the Essential Solution program, your account manager will review a variety of elements that make up your online social personality. But there are two short-term goals that all new Essential Solution clients need to focus on:
1) 100 “Likes” on your Facebook Business Page
If you were working from a personal profile, it is imperative to shift to a Business Page. Facebook makes it very easy to send an invitation to your current “friends” to “Like” your Business Page. “Likes” on your Business Page are important because the number of “likes” you have is essentially your Facebook “reach.” Although you are likely (automatically) sharing the blogs we provide daily, only those that “Like” your Facebook Business page are going to see your posts.
2) 5 Five-Star Reviews on your Facebook and Google + Pages
Social media sites are being used as search engines more and more. As such, a potential client (or their child) may search for more information about your company and come across your Facebook Business or Google + Pages. In addition to the numerous likes, they can read testimonials from satisfied clients (either known or anonymous). The situation the review details could be exactly what the potential client is struggling through, and knowing you have successfully settled that issue before may help break down barriers that may have previously prevented a client from contacting your office.
Incorporating asking for reviews into your “case closing” process is suggested. At your last meeting, you could respectfully ask if the client has been pleased with your services, and, if so, that you would very much appreciate having a review on your website(s). Both sites make it easy to invite former clients to leave a positive review of your work.
Of course, upon achieving these goals, new goals will be set for your company to continue growing and extending your social media reach, including incorporating activity on the other social media platforms as well as increasing your current numbers. But for social media beginners, our focus will be Facebook and Google +, and then incrementally raising the bar to more social media responsibility (and success!).
