How well did you do in all those business classes you took in law school? How about the management classes? Did you ace them all and now find that running the business of your law practice is a breeze?
Oh wait, you say that you didn't really study business or management in law school? That now you're just "winging" it when it comes to managing a team, building business relationships and generating revenue?
Don't feel bad if this is you, most new business owners are subject-matter experts with very little real business or management education or experience.
Sadly, most new businesses also fail within their first three years. Of the survivors, many continue to struggle with just enough success to keep them going ... never really breaking through.
I was no different. I spent years working almost around the clock trying to grow my business, satisfied knowing that I was "paying my dues," calling my own shots and enjoying the freedom of not having a boss!
Then one day I realized I'd been in business for almost 10 years and I was still struggling ... just getting by. That's when I decided enough is enough and got serious. I started investing in myself, finding mentors, learning more about business, how to build and lead a team, and scale up.
The biggest cost you need to control in your business?
It's not advertising, marketing or mentoring! The biggest cost you need to control in your business is the cost of the money you are NOT making, the clients you are NOT helping.
How much did all those years that I played small actually cost me? I'm figuring, conservatively, at least $1 million. I played small because I was afraid to spend the money ... to invest in myself. I looked at the cost of advertising, mentoring and education and blanched. There was no way I could afford those costs ON THE MONEY I WAS EARNING AT THE TIME.
It wasn't until I changed my mindset to realize that NOT investing was costing me so much more. I could limit my risk by investing, but not by playing small. The most I could lose by investing would be the cost of my investment ... but there was literally no limiting the amount I could lose by hanging on to those advertising or tuition dollars and continuing to play small with my career.
I see it in the new clients who enroll with us every day. The years spent struggling to grow their practice, the time wasted and lost that can never be recovered. All because they were afraid to make the $1,000, $2,000 or $10,000 investment ... which seems so ironic for people who spend tens if not hundreds of thousands on law school! It's awesome to see them transform and grow their revenue, to finally have the income and the impact they deserve.
But it's also sad to consider how much it cost them to wait. It's great that they can double their business in six or eight months ... but what if they had done that years ago?!?! What if I could have helped them do that before so much time had passed?
Right now we're offering a free master class teaching you the exact strategy our clients use to design the law practice and lifestyle they love, serve the clients they most enjoy, and make six or seven figures ... or way more.
The class is free. Register here.
